The Tricer-AD is a fully functioning sit to stand tripod.

Utilizing an inverted leg design the 33oz AD is the strongest tripod in its class. Long gone are the days of using a photography tripod with pencil thin legs on the ground.

The inverted AD has a 3 section leg with the largest 1 1/8” leg on the ground, a 1” in the middle and the thinnest 7/8” leg at the head.

This revolutionary backcountry tripod will easily handle any optic or rifle you put on it. The AD proves you can go ultralight without sacrificing stability.

Tricer AD - Good or bad?

I bought this tripod to use as a photography/videography tripod on backcountry hunts, It's definitely light, but the cons outweighed the pros. All three legs have come out of the inserts, and I had to re-glue them all, the legs love to spin when trying to loosen them and the entire plastic insert will twist instead of the leg loosening up it just spins in circles. Where the legs hinge it will loosen as well so make sure to have an Allen wrench that matches the bolts handy or else they will just slap all over while trying to move around while having a camera+long lens attached. Makes for a pretty difficult stalk. The weight hook at the bottom of the center carbon fiber rod also unscrewed itself at some point and is on a mountain somewhere. Pretty un-impressed. Sad since I loved the idea of the company being based here in the states, the inverted leg style, all of it is really an awesome idea, but when it comes to it making my work easier, it just doesn't do the job. I did reach out about a month after I purchased when I had the issue with the first two legs coming unglued, but was told I could just re-glue them myself and would be sent a head for the tripod. I don't want a new head, I want a working tripod after I spent $360 on it. I've ran the tripod for around 8 months and after repeatedly fixing it myself from the same issues, I just figured I'd put my experience with it down. I personally can't justify it anymore.

My first tripod and I have to say it’s amazing. Super lightweight but rock solid. Worth every penny. Shot a doe this evening with my 15lb competition rifle on top of it. Handled the weight like a champ

Leaving an honest review as I was able to win the tripod through an initial ascent giveaway in August 2024.

At first, I couldn't believe that anyone would spend this type of money on a tripod. Spending money on optics, packs, etc.? Yes. A tripod? No. At just over 3lbs for ALL three items, I knew it was light, but every tripod is bulky. Then I started using it. Because my 4-5 mile trek into our back-country bear spot requires us to strip any weight possible, I was willing to take 1 trip with the tripod. Add 3-4, 1+ mile hunts for deer, and I'm buying into the idea of a tripod. It truly does keep you glassing longer... Okay, why Tricer? This thing is legit. Again - just over 3 pounds! Construction and craftsmanship are next level. Materials, workmanship and quality - couldn't be more impressive. Is it expensive? In my opinion - absolutely, but do you get what you pay for? In Tricer - 100%. This isn't your Walmart, plastic piece of junk that you'll be buying a replacement for in a year. Zero doubt that the quality of Tricer is one that - if it were to fail - Tricer would replace. Can I imagine that something would fail in the backcountry? Let's just say I'd stake the possibility of harvesting an animal on it.

So... would I buy if I had to pay full price? I'm cheap, and yes, but I'd wait for the Black Friday discounts. Is it worth full price? 100%. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Now if I just find a way to win the GC to make my chances even better...
