I used this on three pairs of poles- My personal black diamond aluminum z-poles, my wife's carbon distance poles, and my father's leki adjustable poles. On all 3 pairs the resulting pole was very wobbly at the joint. I tried to fix this with different tightnesses, but never could get the adapter to function correctly.

that being said it is a quality made aluminum product and very lightweight. If it functioned on any of these 3 sets it would've gotten 5 stars. Because it worked on none, 2

I expected just a slip in coupler but these tighten down on the trekking pole tips to make a very rigid extended pole. Very nice design and quality machining.
